About the Firm
Odyssey Capital
Odyssey Capital is a private investment firm focused on sourcing, structuring, and managing opportunities in the inefficient corners of private and alternative markets. We operate where relationships, discipline, and time remain the true drivers of alpha, and where access is earned through original work, patient capital, and the right rooms.
We invest where we have edge, and only where we have edge. Our mandate is to build enduring value for the investors and partners who entrust us with their capital.
Leadership
The Team

Al Valas
MANAGING PARTNER
Al Valas is a Managing Partner of Odyssey Capital. An operator before an investor, Al operated a B2B SaaS before transitioning full-time into private markets. At Odyssey, he leads deal origination and investment structuring, working with institutional investors and family offices to build diversified, uncorrelated portfolios. His prior experience spans lower-middle-market acqusitions and private equity, and his operator background informs an underwriting lens shaped as much by building companies as by analyzing them. In his free time he enjoys travel, golfing, and skiing.

Thomas Farley
MANAGING PARTNER
Thomas Farley is a Founding Partner and Managing Partner of Odyssey Capital. With a background in private market allocation and structured alternative strategies, Tom has worked with institutional investors and family offices to build high-conviction portfolios across private and alternative markets. He brings deep expertise in uncorrelated income strategies and late-stage venture capital, combining cross-sector experience with a contrarian lens to deliver durable, risk-adjusted returns. Outside the firm, Tom is an avid chess player, golfer, and cave diver.

Kolton Mente
MANAGING PARTNER
Kolton is a Managing Partner at Odyssey Capital, where he leads capital formation and structures pre-IPO secondary opportunities for family offices, fund-of-funds, and qualified purchasers. He began his career in institutional private equity at RCP Advisors, a multi-billion dollar middle-market fund-of-funds, where he underwrote GPs and direct co-investments across buyout, growth equity, and special situations. He later served as the first strategic hire and Chief Operating Officer of Terrashroom, a venture-backed consumer hardware company, leading a $1M pre-seed raise and operations through the company's national feature on ABC's Shark Tank, and previously co-founded Flywheel, an Operator talent marketplace for PE and VC funds that exited through strategic acquisition. Outside the office, Kolton trains Muay Thai and rides enduro dirtbikes.
Time, discipline, and access are the last true edges. We build around all three.
